What a grade calculator does
A grade calculator turns a score into a mark using a grading key: you enter the points achieved and the maximum, and it returns the grade for that percentage. It removes the repetitive lookup work when marking a stack of tests, and lets students check for themselves what a given score is worth.
Toolra's calculator uses the German grading system (1 = very good to 6 = insufficient). The percentage thresholds are fully editable, so you can match your school's or subject's key exactly, and there is a separate mode for the upper-secondary 0–15 points scale.
How the grading key works
A grading key maps percentage ranges to grades. For example, 92–100% might be a 1, 81–91% a 2, and so on down to a 6. A linear key spaces the thresholds evenly; a key like the German IHK scheme weights the middle grades differently.
